Use it Messaging Process & Resources

Use it Messaging Process  Use it Messaging Server is based on the following ressources  A network shared folder (\\SVRFAX\FAX)\\SVRFAX\FAX  A registry server shared among server computers  Installation of 4 Windows services  A database provider (Access, SQL Server, Oracle)  Local registry parameters  A local shared folder to install services  Faxil : an optional fax printer device installed on each UIM machine

Use it Messaging Process  A network shared folder (\\Svr\Fax)\\Svr\Fax  Can be either: Installed on a dedicated file server Installed on the fax server for standalone configuration Is the target of the first step of the installation process [Setup.exe]  Hold the shared program \\SVR\Fax\Ifbin\i386  Hold the shared and persistent data \\SVR\Fax\Iflan for the Fax Client \\SVR\Fax\Iflan \\SVR\Fax\Ifcom for the fax server \\SVR\Fax\Ifcom  Hold the file config.cfg at the root of the shared folder Reflect the state of modules and services installed

Use it Messaging Process  A registry server shared among server computers  Except for the fax server, the Use it Messaging services store the common parameters on a dedicated server  Usualy on the first fax server installed  Typical parameters hold are: The installed connectors parameters Knowledge of the machines installed Global conversion parameters Databases connection strings

Use it Messaging Process  Installation of 4 Windows services  3 services for Use it Messaging Server Controller [imeCtrl.exe] – Responsible of the connectors. – The connectors are DLL attached to imectrl processus – Check for new messages and manage the queuing – The processing unit Read/Write data to the connectors through RPC calls on the controller Processing Unit [imedisp.exe] – Evaluate LCR and forwarding rules – Generate delivery reports – Convert documents to TIFF fax format – Log the send and received fax activity System Attendant [imeattnd.exe] – Manage databases cleanup, archiving and purge  1 Service for the fax Server Fax Server [ifcomsvc.exe] – This service handle everything regarding the fax cards installed on the local computer  + Eventualy 2 services for Use it Application connector [DMAC + DMDT] if installed 1 Service for the Alarms module

Use it Messaging Process  A database provider (Access, SQL Server, Oracle)  4 databases are used by the product  IMEBASE The main database used by Controller and Processing Unit  IFCOMSVC Shared by Fax Gateway and Controller through the Fax Gateway connector  MICOM Shared by Fax Client and Controller through the Fax Client connector  DMARCH The archiving database if the archaving is installed The system Attendant exports data from IMEBASE into it  MIXPFTP Used for exchanges with Expedite (PGS). (hosted faxs)

Use it Messaging Process  Local registry parameters  The registry is extensively use by all the programs  Parameters are stored under the key HKLM/Software/Imecom Reference to local and remote path [/intfax/intfax] Reference to the Registry Server [IfAdmin and Im ] Fax server lines parameters [Ifcomsvc] Product licence if any (Alarms, DMAC) [Config] DDE Conversions modifier [Conversion] DMAC configuration [Intfax/Routing]

Use it Messaging Process  A local shared folder to install services  All UIM services are installed localy  Its default name is Firmax  SetupSvr share it as LocalRootPath$  Use it Messaging Server share Firmax/ifbin/Imetemp as Imetemp$

Use it Messaging Process  Faxil : a fax printer device installed on each UIM machine The fax client and services setup (SetupWks and SetupSvr) install both the Faxil fax printer driver. The most valuable functionnality of the driver is to produce standard TIFF file when printing on the device. Through the use of Faxil fonts, the workstation version enable the cover pages template creation and the mailing with mergefield. Faxil with Faxil fonts is never installed on a fax server, even if a Fax Client is installed on it
