OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT Priority Axis 1 Water 1.Construction of WSS infrastructure 2.Extension/optimization of quantitative monitoring networks and further development/optimization of the networks for control and operational monitoring of the groundwater chemical status 3.Development of new and update of existing strategic documents for the implementation of the Water Framework Directive and the Marine Strategy Framework Directive – River Basin Management Plans

OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT Priority Axis 2 Waste Measures in accordance with the waste management hierarchy for municipal waste and for implementation of legislative requirements : Centers for re-use, repair and preparation for re-use; Installations for preliminary treatment of municipal waste; Anaerobic and/or composting installations; Installation for waste recovery – Third phase of the integrated Sofia Municipality’s project for municipal waste treatment; Demonstration/Pilot projects.

OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT Priority Axis 3 Natura 2000 and Biodiversity Implementation of measures of the National Prioritized Action Framework for Natura 2000 Development and implementation of management approach for NATURA 2000 sites; Conservation measures for Natura 2000 species and natural habitats under the Habitats and Bird Directives; Development of Natura 2000 sites management plans; Complementing the establishment of Natura 2000; Information measures for NATURA 2000 network.

OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT Priority Axis 4 Flood and Landslides Risk Prevention and Management 1. Establishment of National Real Time Water Management System 2. Studies and assessments related to the preparation of the Flood Risk Management Plans for the period 2022 – Establishment of six centers to increase the preparedness of the population for an adequate response to floods 4. Measures related to flood risk prevention and management solutions, including ecosystem-based approach - restoration of floodplains; improvement of water retentions; biological fortification of the river banks; protection infrastructure/water retention facilities/hydro-technical solutions 5. Measures for landslides risk prevention and management 6. Demonstration/Pilot projects

OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT Priority Axis 5 Improvement of Ambient Air Quality Measures addressing air pollution from domestic heating and public transport, for example: Replacement of stationary individual and multi-family domestic combustion installations/ boilers on solid fuel; Installation of PM filters on individual domestic combustion installations; Measures for alternative heating, serving residential areas which consist of individual houses and/or small multi - family buildings using solid fuel for heating; Measures to reduce emissions from public transport vehicles including reduction of the use of conventional fuel in public transport; Replacement of the public transport vehicles exhaust systems (retrofitting).
