Key points The mode stirrer makes microwaves bounce around in the oven. These waves heat up the water molecules in food. This creates friction and heats up the food. Certain types of food can’t be cooked in a microwave because of the way it cooks food.
FOODS THAT CAN BE COOKED IN A MICROWAVE Most foods can be cooked! FOODS THAT CAN’T BE COOKED IN A MICROWAVE Poached eggs Baked potatoes Soya beans Soup Oatmeal Corn on the cob Fish Popcorn Cous-Cous Rice Microwaveable meals- Curries, Pizzas, lasagne, carbonara, pot noodles etc. Meat- Not going to be tasty! Must be cooked in microwaveable dishes. Boiled eggs- It will be an EGGSPLOSION No metal dishes
Magnetic field created by the microwaves- water molecules have a positive and negative charge- they are bi polar. They act as little magnets, pulled one way and then the other by the microwaves. As the waves pass through the water, the molecules begin to vibrate, this vibration of the water molecules causes friction which then cooks the food.
