HELP MyAccount Gives you a quick look at your portfolio and what is in it. You cannot place trades from MyAccount. The Current Portfolio table shows you how much of and what percentage of your money is invested in Securities and stocks and how much is left in cash. The remaining cash amount can be used to buy more stocks. Current Portfolio Holdings gives you a breakdown of each of the stocks that you currently hold in your portfolio. It shows you how much you paid per share, how much they are now trading for in the market and the total gain or loss (increase or decrease in value) to your portfolio. If you bought shares in a company more than once, you will see an aggregated view of that stock, meaning all the shares you have listed together with the purchase price being the average price you paid. Buy or Sell Stock This view will allow you to buy and sell stock, and show you the trades you have recently done. White fields throughout the page and site are filled in by you, grey fields are automatically generated, so you are not able enter text into them. Brand List, use this to see a page of the world’s most popular brands and logos. Click the logo you want to trade and the stock symbol will be filled in for you. Remember some brands are owned by a company which operates using a different name, so don’t be surprised if the Company Name which appears is not the brand name. Stock Symbol, also referred to as a Ticker Symbol, is an abbreviated company specific code that is used to identify them on the stock exchange. For example Apple Inc.’s symbol is AAPL. If you know they symbol you want, enter it into the field, otherwise click [list] to look up a company’s stock symbol. Company Name, to find a company’s trading name, click [list] and a search box will help you find it. Select the name and click the check mark below and the Company Name field will automatically be populated. Choose to buy or sell shares. From this trading screen, you can only buy stocks if you have the necessary amount of cash in your account and you will only be able to sell shares that you already have in your portfolio (you have previously bought). Choose the Number of Shares you’d like to purchase and the Price per share will be displayed. The Value of the transaction is then calculated and displayed (Number of Shares times Price per share). Prices are the actual stock exchange prices which are being used on the stock exchange. Click the Submit button (the Check Mark) and you’ll know the order was successful when you see the Confirmation Number appear. To place another buy or sell order, make sure and click the plus/enter another trade button. Watch List Watch lists are for stocks and companies that you want to keep your eye on so you can watch how the prices move. Often it’s because you may be thinking of buying the stock but first want to see how it’s behaving. Other times it can be because you want to see if a stock you already hold is going above or below a certain price, so you can sell it to lock in the gain or cap the loss. Enter the stock or symbol information, as you do when buying or selling a stock, and choose your parameters for watching the stock. If you’d like to see the stock on your watch list when it dips down below or above a certain selling price. You may want to do that so you can buy if you think it’s being sold for a good price or sell you stock now that you’ve reached a certain gain or loss.
