MUSCULAR SYSTEM HOW THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM WORKS

WHAT IS THE MAIN FUNTION OF THE SYSTEM? The muscular system is composed of the smooth, skeletal and the cardiac muscle. The functions of this system includes helping in body movement, flexibility, pumping of the blood, digestion, brain activity, breathing movement as well as bone and cell compactness. It provides stability, motion and generates heat.

WHAT ORGANS, TISSUES AND CELL TYPES ARE INVOLVED WITH THE SYSTEM? The digestive and excretory organs are involved in the muscular system by using smooth muscular tissue. The heart is also involved, its made of up strong cardiac muscle. For the tissues there are many including, skeletal muscle tissue, smooth muscle tissue, cardiac muscle tissue, connective tissue and nervous tissue. There are three basic cell types: skeletal, cardiac and smooth cells, although there are more than 650 individual muscles that are attached to the cells.

HOW DO THE MUSCLES FUNCTION TOGETHER TO WALK? Walking can be considered a full body exercise. Although all the work is put on your legs, but your arms still have to swing and your core has to stabilize you while your moving. The primary muscles of your lower legs are soleus, gastrocnemious, tibialis, anterior/posterior and peroneals. For the thigh/knee are vastus, lateralis, medialis, obliques and rectus femoris. Those are the muscles needed for walking.

A GRAPHIC WITH THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM OF THE HUMAN BODY There are many muscles in the human body. Each of them play an important role.
