What is College Credit Plus?

College Credit Plus Replaces PSEO Replaces dual enrollment

Grades 7 – 12 College-ready students Many college course options (includes CT) Public colleges are free Private colleges may include small cost Opportunity for Students to Earn College Credit

College-readiness determined by college. No state minimum GPA required.

Students Apply and Get Admitted Participate by getting admitted into a college or placed in college course, for credit. CCP students must meet same placement criteria as all students taking that course at that college.

Student Choice Students can choose any course that applies toward a degree or workforce certification at a public (or participating private) college.

Students Can Graduate with College Credit Earn up to 30 college credit hours per academic year; (House Bill 64 added summer, rules regarding the summer option are currently under development) No more than 120 college credit hours while in the program.

Find the Colleges and Courses that Fit Students have options Counselors will share sample pathways. Pathways are courses to help the student choose.

A semester college course of 3 or more credits counts as a one-year high school class.

Under what scenarios can a qualified student use College Credit Plus?

The student wants to take college courses to satisfy high school graduation requirements or CTE content. The student completed high school required content and wants to apply college course to CTE program of study.. The student wants to explore college and take a course in a subject of interest.

Books and Fees Students attending a public college do not pay for either books or fees. Students attending a private college may have a cost that includes books and fees.

Assist the Student in Considering Personal Academic Goals Program of Study options

If the student fails the class or drops it too late, you may seek reimbursement unless economically disadvantaged.

Weighted Grades College courses must be weighted the same as Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate in the same subject area. AP, IB Course College Course
