Wednesday October 28, 2015 DO NOW: What is your favorite unit in PE and why? What does SMART goals stand for? LEARNING TARGET: I can identify different stressors in my life and create a plan to lower my level of stress. SUCCESS CRITERIA: I have researched different stressors and solutions to eliminate or lower these things.

STRESS Physical and emotional response to change and a normal part of life. Caused by a variety of social, academic, family, and everyday parts of life. Can be reduced with a healthy lifestyle including exercise, nutrition, and relaxation techniques.

STRESSORS Some common stressors that people experience include: Arguments Body Image Changing schools Job loss Loss of loved ones Physical changes to the body Divorce Braces Failing Glasses Getting in Trouble Puberty

Relieving Stress You can relieve stress by living a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle entails: Eating foods that are good for you, natural Getting plenty of sleep Exercising Reading, listening to music, and just plain relaxing Setting goals…

Activity DUE AT END OF CLASS With your butterfly partner, research some of the factors that cause stress. Identify various techniques and strategies to lower or eliminate stress. What can a person do to not be stressed out. (3 minutes) On the next slide, Read two letters from students and write a letter back to them explaining what you know about stress. In your response you should Explain the factors or situations in the students life that lead to their stress ( stressors ). Provide a few solutions or strategies that the student could use to lower the stress in their life.
