Particulars of the System The Circulatory System is in charge of transporting materials through the whole entire body. It carries nutrients, water, and oxygen to your body cells. The system is divided into three major parts: The Heart The Blood The Blood Vessels

The Heart Your Heart beats 3 billion times in an average lifetime. It is located in the center of your chest, slightly to the left. The Heart is a muscle that is only the size of your fist. It pumps your blood and keeps it moving inside your body.

The Blood Your blood is an important liquid that's always flowing through your body. Your blood is pumped by your heart. It carries water, nutrients, waste products, and oxygen to body cells. A teen/child has about a gallon of blood while an adult has only 5 quarts.

The Blood Vessels There are three types of blood vessels; Arteries, which carry your blood away from your heart. (mostly with lots of oxygen) Capillaries, which are tiny vessels that are as thin as hairs. These connect your arteries to your veins. Last, there are veins and they carry most of your blood back to the heart.

5 facts about the Circulatory System The circulatory system is also called the cardiovascular system. It is an organ system for circulation. It permits blood to circulate and transport nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hormones, and blood cells to and from cells in the body to nourish it and help to fight diseases. It is one of the largest organ systems in the body. The circulatory system is how blood flows through your body and gets where it needs to get.

Staying Healthy To keep your Circulatory System healthy here’s some things you can do: limit your fattening foods exercise at least 1 hour daily do NOT do drugs do NOT drink alcohol, liquor, etc. until you are 21 and don't get drunk do not eat too much salt

How Someone Can Contract the Illnesses Atherosclerosis: some can contract Atherosclerosis when plaque builds up inside your arteries Myocardial Infarction: someone can contract myocardial infarction when there is death of tissue due to oxygen starvation Mitral Prolapse Stenosis Regurgitation: someone can contract mitral prolapse stenosis regurgitation when there is a condition in which the heart's mitral valve doesn't work well. Angina Pectoris: someone can contract Angina pectoris when they have a reduced amount in the flow of oxygen -rich blood to the heart muscle causing chest pain Arrhythmia: someone can contract Arrhythmia when there is a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heart beat

Cures and treatments for the illnesses Atherosclerosis: some of the treatments and cures include heart healthy diet, medicines, medical procedures or surgery myocardial Infarction: some of the cures and treatments include Thrombolysis and primary PCI Mitral Prolapse Stenosis Regurgitation: some of the treatments and cures include surgery and medical therapy Angina Pectoris: some of the treatments and cures include surgery,and cardiac care Arrhythmia: some of the treatments and cures include electric shock, pacemaker, and a defibrillator
