ROBERT EINSTEIN Healthy Meal

All five food groups are represented in this meal. The banana is part of the fruit group, the lettuce is part of the vegetables group, the chicken is protein, the milk is the dairy group, and the pasta is part of the grains group.

Spaghetti The spaghetti is whole grain because it contains whole wheat flour. The whole grains and pasta are not only good for my body, they contain carbohydrates. Carbohydrates give me energy for when I play soccer after school.

Chicken The chicken is a lean protein, not fried. This means it is low fat, and easier to digest since there is less fat. Lean protein builds muscle so my soccer kick will be stronger.

Milk The milk is skim instead of 2%, which means it is fat free instead of just low fat. Milk has calcium and vitamin D which makes my bones strong. This decreases the risk for heart disease.

Lettuce The lettuce is darker green, which means it has more nutrients. This is obviously better for your body. The dark lettuce contains fiber which is good for my digestive system. _id=1029

Banana The banana counts as one cup of fruit, which is about half the daily amount needed. Bananas have potassium which helps to maintain healthy blood pressure and it gives me energy to run on the soccer field.
