PLOT BASIC situation: Series of Events: Climax: Resolution Typical in the beginning Introduces characters and central conflict (conflict is the problem, struggle, or challenge) Series of Events: While the plot advances, the character(s) work to resolve the conflict and complications arise Climax: The most suspenseful part of the story Resolution The last part of the story; all loose ends are tied up
