TRAINING FOR LIFE:LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE FOR EUROPE Efficient communication People’s values Relationships Leadership Styles CLIP activities 8.project meeting,Italy,February 2015 I.gimnazija Osijek

Since the last meeting in Turkey we covered 4 topics: 1.Effective communication 2.People’s values 3.Relationships 4.Leadership Styles I.gimnazija Osijek

EFFICIENT COMMUNICATION Effective communication between team members is at the heart of all productive teamwork.High-performance results can be achieved only if team members communicate in the efficient way. I.gimnazija Osijek

Our ways to communicate effectively I.gimnazija Osijek

PEOPLE’S VALUES When we were discussing the topic of people’s values one class organised a discussion on the topic whether values are stable or they change through life. The conclusion was that some core values are stable, but some values may change as we move through life. For example, when we start our careers, money and status might be a top priority. However, after we have our own family, we value some other things more. I.gimnazija Osijek

PEOPLE’S VALUES We asked our school’s students to name the most important values for them,to mark the most important things that guide them and these are some of the most frequent answers: I.gimnazija Osijek family friendhip happiness freedom success trust truthrespect love

RELATIONSHIPS I.gimnazija Osijek Next topic was relationships.Throughout the project we developed different kinds of relationships among ourselves. Our conclusion was that if you want people in a team to get along and to have decent relationships the most important thing is respect. It is the essential element in building relationships, now at school and later at our workplace.

It’s all about the relationships you have with people – which doesn’t necessarily mean friendships. Relationships are built over time, when one person has respect for another. Gradually, trust begins to build, too. You don’t have to be a close personal friend with everyone at school or work, but you do always need to show each person respect and professionalism. I.gimnazija Osijek

LEADERSHIP STYLES Students had to choose a few leaders and present their leadership styles to other students(Gandhi,Martin Luther King, Margaret Thatcher…).The conclusion was that there is no perfect ledership style, but each style has some good points that could be used later in life. I.gimnazija Osijek

CLIP ACTIVITIES In November our students took part in a competition on a European level, called Our Ideas for Better Europe. You can watch the video later if you are interested. %2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FuDOddItUa70&h=5A QGv_pxS I.gimnazija Osijek

We told you in Turkey that we applied for the annual volunteering award given each year to individuals, schools and companies. We won the award and the ceremony took place on the International Day of Volunteering. I.gimnazija Osijek

Christmas basket Before Christmas all of our students participated in a Christmas action called Christmas basket. With the help of the Health Care Unit in our town our students prepared Christmas presents for old and poor people. Each class visited one family and made their Christmas a little bit happier. volonteri--darivali-bolesne-i-nemocne-gradjane I.gimnazija Osijek

We had one more Christmas activity. One class organised a visit to the Centre for disabled children. They spent a day with them and gave them Christmas presents. I.gimnazija Osijek

One class bought sweets and clothes for poor children and organized a Christmas party with these children.
