Scientific Method QUIZ 7.In the following experiment identify the “control group”. “Two cars were used to test if an oil additive would help the car’s gas mileage. Car A was given the oil additive, and Car B was not. Both cars were driven to San Diego and back to Lompoc and the amount of gasoline was documented for each.”

Scientific Method QUIZ 8.In the following experiment identify the “variable”. “120 plants of the same species were used to test affect of soil type on plant growth. Group A consisted of 30 plants which were planted in sandy soil. Group B also had 30 plants and were planted in potting soil. Group C had 30 plants as well and were planted in clayey soil. Plants heights were then measured for 20 days.”

Scientific Method QUIZ 9.In the following experiment identify the “experimental group”. “A rocket was tested to see if a fin design change would improve stability during flight. The rocket was launched at an angle with the original fins and videotaped to monitor it’s flight. The goal was to try and hit a target 200 feet down range. Then a second rocket was launched with a different fin design and launched towards the target as well.”
