How did Humans Impact their Environment? Talent 21 2012 Steven Kingkiner

Introduction Early man, early farmers, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome impacted their environment in physical ways. Some were in mostly agriculture with animals and plants. Also some were making tools out of natural resources. And many in physical wars. They impacted their environment in many ways.

After the Glacier Age The population grew all over the continent. The grow made people cut down trees for them to have living spaces. The glaciers carried over rock which became new spear points. Help natives cross the Beringa Straight to North America.

Early Man Starting fire Antler, bamboo, bone, wood, and stone tools Made canoes from woods near rivers and lakes Built some houses partially underground

Early Farmers Made irrigation, terraces, and the plow Learned how to adapt plants and tame animals Produced larger food supplies in one place Grew enough food for surplus

Mesopotamia Created more-advanced cultures Built settlements on high plateaus Built dams, dikes, and walls of dirt in the water and on the borders Made city-states

Egypt Built irragtion ditches, dams, and dikes to control the flow of water Created temples, pyramids, and government buildings

Greece Built enormous empires Used animals that took up small land Made decorative objects from wood, clay, bone, wool, stone, and metal

Rome Romans required huge quantities of timber for mining, and heating, as well as for construction and the production of iron and other metals.

Conclusion The time periods impacted their environment in many ways. They were mostly caused by physical actions. And some were in the category agriculture. To me Rome impacted their environment the most. And early humans did a lot to their environment to.
