Background We inspire and support communities and teams to take responsibility for and drive their own development. The Constellation is a NGO working around the world to stimulate, connect, and empower communities to drive growth Grounded in our strength-based philosophy, we facilitate a proven process to stimulate and inspire confidence, improve team effectiveness, establish and achieve common team goals We have qualified coaches, and can connect you with partner NGOs and hundreds of communities in dozens of countries ready to help unlock your team’s potential Context © 2012 Constellation 2 Organisations interested in connecting with the Constellation tend to answer “Yes” to these questions: Are you on a journey to unlock your team’s collective potential? Do you want to learn innovative new ways to create sustainable change? Do you strive to get the most value from your investment in your organisation and people? Would you like to learn about how we are partnering with businesses and communities to deliver performance?

Apply SALT to connect, respect and inspire Our Approach - The Community Life Competence Process and Practice of SALT We connect, build mutual respect with and inspire groups of people to believe in their ability to make meaningful changes in their lives. We coach communities and teams through a proven process to achieve their own goals. © 2012 Constellation 3 Step 1: Where do you want to be? Step 2: Where are you now? Step 3: How will you get there? Step 4: Are you making progress? Step 5: Learn and share SALT: S: Stimulate, Support A: Appreciate L: Listen, Link, Learn T: Transfer, Team Conduct After Action Reviews (ARR ) after each step to discuss what went well, went less well, and what to focus on going forward. Once we discover our strengths and dreams and take ownership, we start to act.

S timulate A ppreciate L earn T ransfer Step 1: Dream Step 2: Self-Assess ment Step 3: Action Planning Step 4: Progress Step 5: Learn and share Story We use the power of stories to unlock understanding and build relationships. Examples from South India: © 2012 Constellation 4 Apply SALT to connect, respect and inspire “We have no money, no water and no school – but we have Hope” – Wives and mothers in rural village, South India “We want our children to have an education to get good jobs” –community shares their hopes and dreams “We are proud that we resolve disputes within our community – we never need the police” – Fisherman from community “There is a school nearby, but it is too far for our kids to walk there” – community assesses where they are now compared to their dream “We can organise a protest to get the bus to stop near our village. And let’s organise study space and time. ” – action starts with what can be done with their existing resources “Now our kids are going to school and graduating 10 th standard” – community meets to evaluate progress “Now we want to learn how to run our own businesses…” – community explores other options to continue journey
