Structuralism Psychology By Socheatra, Waleed, Ibrahim

Leader of structuralism : Wilhelm Wundt Wilhelm Wundt is a German physiologist who was trained in medicine. He specialised in the scientific study of human consciousness.

When is first became prominent Structural psychology first became prominent in 1879, when Wilhelm established a psychological laboratory at the university of Leipzig in Germany. Structural psychology is still prominent now during the modern era.

Focus of study The term structuralism focuses on the structure of consciousness and the building blocks that make up consciousness and how the part are organised and interrelated.

Methods of study Simplifying the understanding of consciousness by breaking it down into smaller categories. eg. Thoughts, feelings, sight, sounds, etc. Organising them by how the are interrelated with each other Making a hypothesis and then testing the hypothesis to see if its true.

Theories His theory is psychology should its own separate scientific discipline which uses experimental methods to study mental processes
