Joy is a result of settling all our thoughts on God, His dealings with us, and His purposes with and through us – Psalm 34:8, 22.

This joy is also seen in the moment by moment contact and fellowship with the Father. All this is given to us – Gal. 4:6; 1 John 1:3-4!

Romans 14:17 (NASB) 17  for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

John follows joy with holiness – Romans 14:17. Evidence of a lack of fellowship with God and thus a lack of fellowship with other believers is a lack of joy in our lives! Lack of joy comes from lacking peace and lacking righteousness – Romans 15:13!

Romans 15:13 (NASB) 13  Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
