Hello. I am Papi Noel, the Santa Claus of Brazil Hello! I am Papi Noel, the Santa Claus of Brazil. You just caught me as I was getting ready to visit the good children of Brazil for Christmas. Come along! You can help me deliver their goodies!

Brazil is a country in the Southern Hemisphere Brazil is a country in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s very near the equator, so it’s really hot. I’m so glad I wore my silk suit to keep me a little cooler!

In Brazil, families enjoy putting out nativity scenes that show baby Jesus lying in a bed of straw. There is one in front of the next house we will be stopping at!

I wonder what the family is doing inside the house? Mmmm! It smells like a roasted turkey, the traditional Christmas meal in Brazil!

Brazilians eat their Christmas meal in the evening on December 24th Brazilians eat their Christmas meal in the evening on December 24th. Along with the turkey, they serve rice, fresh vegetables, and, my personal favorites... Desserts!

Now we’re moving on to a large city Now we’re moving on to a large city. Look at the “tree of light” this city has created for Christmas. How lovely!

I have one more exciting thing I want to show you. Many cities in Brazil celebrate Christmas by lighting off fireworks! Let’s watch the display!

My night is almost over, but the children of Brazil will get gifts again. Children who have been extra good will get gifts from the Three Wise Men on January 6.

Boas Festas! Well, I need to continue delivering gifts to good girls and boys! I hope you enjoyed your tour of Brazil at Christmas! Boas Festas!
