Web 2.0 and e-research The increasing development of the Web 2.0 has not only contributed to the fast expansion of personal abilities and online information consumption, but also to the constitution of collaboration scenarios, which can be used at scientific level for transversal production and knowledge nets where researchers are willing to interact in the execution of experiments, as well as their discussion in these virtual scenarios, (Waldrop (2008).

Today’s current context, the scientific communicaction must… Recover the already taken path of recreational or non scientific individual scenarios where new referents or paradigms of digital socialization have been constituted Suppressing the control mechanisms of contents from traditional scientific knowledge construction Promote new communication models within it where the potential of the Web 2.0/3.0 for discovery and contributions between academic pairs Break the inhibition of many researchers at the moment of submerging in this new context of contact and exchange opportunities

Towards science 2.0 /e-science We are currently without previously established ways for accessing knowledge and having contact with other pairs within the societies, (Piscitelli, 2002).

The new Tecno-social enviroment and development from science 2.0 has allowed… The acquisition and replication of collaboration models from science or study areas where it is necessary to work with others for the processing of a great quantity of data. The rupture with the fragmentation of the action fields of researchers. Researchers being part of a whole around a common project away from the traditional organizational model but always nearer to each other around a new organizational dynamics coming from virtual scenarios.

That´s why… With the ICTs advancement we are part of the profound transformation in the way research is developed and how the public service functions of the universities take place in contemporary societies.

Some challenges around e-science… The importance of the role user-creator of contents, due to the applications and services coming from Web 2.0. The new ways for accessing information and the construction of knowledge. The decentralization of information through new abilities and conversation and interaction resources between users.

The Cevale2 project… The objective of this project is to develop e-research/action in high energy physics and associated disciplines with the use of intensive advanced net. The project was approved by the Colombian National Academic Net of Advanced Technology (RENATA) in 2009.

The Cevale2 project… Working around three physics projects BABAR, ATLAS and LAGO. Around them, the project try to promote the diffusion of these projects, as well as, the development of perspectives coming from social sciences for multidisciplinary development of this proposal.

How Cevale2`s project move on…

The role and commitment of researchers/intellectuals in the digital and global age… The new scenario depends on a set of factors coming from its own dynamics and characteristics of the different scientific disciplines (Borgman, 2007).

New roles of researchers, through CEVALE2… Being promoters of interaction Possesing a high motivation level with everything related to collaborative work Trusting pairs for the production of high quality scientific/intellectual knowledge.

New roles of researchers, through CEVALE2… Having a collective efficiency sense higher than individual. Establishing time in their agendas for the development of such a collaborative work. Promoting communication in real time with collaborators or pairs.

New roles of researchers, through CEVALE2… Being surrounded by a critical mass of researchers/intellectuals interested in collaborative work. Being trained (with competence) for the use of collaborative tools generated by ICTs. Promoting data distribution, which can be stored in a given place to be shared with other pairs.

Challenges for promoting these new roles…
