Born in 1527, son of a painter. Trained in painting and art, worked on church windows and tapestries. In 1562, he is assigned to be the court painter for Ferdinand I in Vienna.
At first, Guiseppe was a standard court portraitist. No big deal. But, given the fascination with witchcraft, the occult and puzzles during this time, Guiseppe began to paint his now-famous “nature portraits.”
