Role of the MSG Sub-committee of the P&C assist the music teachers in the maintenance and enhancement of the music program Purchase, maintenance and loan of instruments Performance uniforms Coordination of levies Organisation of the mid-, and end of year Music Nights Support at other competitions and school functions (Harmonies, ANZAC Day etc)

Loan Period Strings Viola and violin – 1 year Cello – 2 years Double bass – duration of the program Band: Duration of program for Double Bass, French Horn, Bass Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone, Euphonium, Tuba and Glockenspiel Other instruments - 1 year

Levies Each beginning student in the instrumental music program contributes: $40 music levy (once per year) Sheet music, competition fees, rehearsal pianists, performance uniforms $80 instrument hire levyInstrument purchase, maintenance and general repairs

Damage to instruments Instruments are not covered for accidental damage In the event of damage to loan instruments: Report immediately to your instrumental teacher for assessment Instrumental teachers and the MSG will coordinate the repairs at your cost.

Large instruments MSG has a few trolleys available for larger instruments Officeworks - $30

Book Pack information MSG has arranged for book packs to be available through Masson Music Items are sold as a pack to ensure students have everything they need on Day 1.

Points to remember Instruments will not be issued until Loan form is signed and returned Levies have been paid. These will be due within a couple of weeks of the instruments being allocated (this term) That way – instrument distribution can occur early in Term 1. Include your CHILD’s name with payment!!

Many hands make light work Please consider how you can support the Music Program and the MSG Committee positions – looking for a second person to coordinate the Levies. Performances need people for: Set up, transport, ushering, instrument tuning, backstage, front of house, uniforms, packing up, photography and much more!!
