SubSystem Level Design Review Goals During the subsystem level design phase the team plans to continue developing prototypes of the purchasing and tool loan out software. Web space on the RIT web server will be requested to begin creation of a MSD specific website. Time studies will be performed to document the current state and identify additional areas for improvement. A testing plan will be created to document how the team will receive feedback on the current prototypes.
Updated Risk Analysis Likelihood of Occurrence Reduced Benchmarking risk – reduced to 0 Unable to obtain web space – reduced to 0 Newest Concerns Capturing accurate current state data Quantity of surplus materials
Expert Feedback / Opportunities Contacted McMaster- Carr: Do not offer Contacted Grainger: Setting up meeting for next week to discuss Contacted Supply Point: Waiting on Response
Current State Analysis Began collecting data to document the current state Benchmarked the current purchasing procedure by creating a “ mock ” purchase requisition and timing the steps Observed tool loan out activity from 12-2PM on Thursday, Oct 15. Tool Loan Out observation: Need more data, may leave a form with the staff to have them record transactions Purchasing observation: Guide approval times vary – send survey to MSD II students to get more accurate data
Current State Analysis
Current State Analysis: MSD II Survey The following survey will be sent to MSD II students to receive feedback regarding the guide approval process. We also hope to better understand what teams utilize the consumable inventory on the MSD floor and in the machine shop.
