Using similes to describe yourself As Pretty as a Picture! Using similes to describe yourself

Close your eyes and picture this: Peter runs very fast. Now, close your eyes and picture this: Peter runs like a cheetah. Which sentence gives you a better mind movie? Why?

Using Similes to Describe A simile compares two different things using the words like or as. Writers use similes to make writing more interesting and to create better mind movies for the reader. Examples: The sun felt like a warm blanket. From the airplane, the cars looked like toys. On opening day, the cashiers were as busy as bees. The robbers tiptoed through the house as quiet as a mouse.

A Portrait of You Think about yourself… What features do you have? What talents do you have? What else describes you? Write similes to describe YOU! Think of at least 5 traits/qualities about you, and write similes to describe those.
