Nathan Eady AP World History 2 nd period

How it Started  Started 2500 years ago  Mainly started in the time between 600 and 200 BC  Started from a bunch of drunks in a cult that worshiped the god Dionysus and started to act funny around each other in the year 534 BC

The Type of Entertainment  Back then they had made 5 famous playwrights  They had made 3 tragedians which were tragic plays that involved a lot of drama which were composed by a man named Aeschylus  Greek Theater also had 2 famous comedies that were composed by two people named Aristophanes and Menander

Architecture  The architecture of the theaters back then was firstly the thought of making the theaters next to mountains so that they could build the seating into the sides of mountains and surround the stage.  About 5 to 10 years later after building into mountains they decided to make separate theaters made out of stone that could hold up to 20,000 people
