Welcome Back Week of 9/10 Monday/Tuesday: You may have the first half of class to put the finishing touches on your posters. The second half of class will be our “stay and stray.” Use the rubric you have been given to grade your classmates. You may take notes on the back. Remember, you will be quizzed on this material! Wednesday/Thursday: QUIZ on Anglo Saxon Period (webquest and textbook) Friday: Begin Beowulf

Extra Credit For those who want it… Glogster.com Online poster making program Interactive Use the information from your Anglo Saxon project and create a poster Extra Credit points Due Friday – start of class! You MUST it to me. Title of your Your name/Period/Glogster Poster/Topic This is not in place of a poster. It is in addition to and is EXTRA points. It can improve your grade. Timeline for Your Webquest Understanding the Anglo Saxon Time Period SESSION #1: 9/4 and 9/5 Read How Do We Know and the Beowulf Poem links (found in the Resource boxes above) to get background for our quest. Complete your study guide as you read.How Do We KnowBeowulf Poem With your partner choose a category (one of the boxes in the resource list) to explore. Scan through the information and make a list of your initial impressions. Within your category, narrow the information down to four major ideas you wish to teach to the class. Take notes on those four points. Choose significant images and prepare text to be mounted on the poster board. To prepare your images for the poster, you may save the files to your directory or on a disk, and then print using Publisher, Word, or Photo Editor. See a computer lab assistant if you need help. REMEMBER: As you collect images, be sure to cite the source (that means write down the URL address and author, if available).

Timeline for Your Webquest Understanding the Anglo Saxon Time Period SESSION #2: 9/6 and 9/7 In addition to the computer webquest, use the textbook to obtain information. PAGE 19. Make sure your graphic organizer is completed by the end of today’s class. SUMMER READING WAS DUE THURS/FRIDAY of last week!!! Thursday/Friday: CREATE YOUR POSTER! Remember to: 1. include a title 2. include images and credit your source 3. include captions and/or text 4. creatively arrange information on the poster 5. be able to elaborate on the poster in your presentation.

Timeline for Your Webquest Understanding the Anglo Saxon Time Period SESSION #3: 9/10 and 9/11 45 minutes to complete projects/45 minutes for presentations which are due (STAY and STRAY) STAY and STRAY: Present your findings to the class. Your poster should introduce your major points while your presentation will elaborate on them. Audience members will listen closely and record ideas that will help them answer three questions (which you will receive on poster day). I will also provide you with a rubric for grading. SESSION #4: 9/12 and 9/13 QUIZ on Anglo Saxon times. Study your notes. Read the textbook information. Come prepared!
