Georges Seurat

Early life Georges-Pierre Seurat was born in Paris on the 2nd of December 1859. When Georges started painting he worked on a Sunday afternoon on the island of La Grande Jatte.

His paintings

Later life In 1875 Georges took on municipal drawing lessons taught by Justin Lequien. He discovered he could draw at a young age and took it on has a hobby. Georges became extremely good at good at drawing, so he decided to take it on as a job. In 1878 Seurat went to university at Ecole Des Beaux- Arts and studied the ultra-academic Henri Lehmann, later on he became a pupil of Ingres. In 1884 he spent Sundays working on a long large canvas on the island of La-Grande Jatte.

Family Georges Seurat’s dad was called Antoine Chrysostom Seurat and his mum was called Ernestiene Faivre he didn’t have any siblings or children.

Death Georges Seurat passed away in Paris on the 29th March 1891 at a young age of 31 yrs.
