Exploring The Illustrated Man

Imagery  n., pl., -ries. A set of mental pictures or images.  The use of vivid or figurative language to represent objects, actions, or ideas.  The use of expressive or evocative images in art, literature, or music.  Representative images, particularly statues or icons.  The art of making such images.  Psychology. A technique in behavior therapy in which the patient uses pleasant fantasies to relax and counteract anxiety.

Word Association- “5 minute brainstorm” CHOOSE 1 title from the next slide WRITE any words that come to mind when thinking about the title you chose EXPAND- pick any word and expand on it Whose bottle was it? What is in the bottle? Where did you find the bottle? When did the bottle get filled up? Or emptied? How did it get here? Why did they leave it?

 The Illustrated Man has ever-changing images all over his body that illustrate stories. Find a partner and together and give life to your “5 minute brainstorms.” You may choose to draw a visual representation, create a song or write a short passage ***Use IMAGERY
