GRATITUDE Psalm 107:1 – Give thanks to the Lord, for this is good; his love endures forever.

WHAT WOULD YOU GIVE FOR: Better health? To sleep more sound? Less Anxiety? Less Depression? Better satisfaction with life?

WHICH ONE ARE YOU? Optimist or Pessimist? The Grateful!

TOUGH BIBLICAL TEACHINGS:  Turn the other cheek  Go the 2 nd mile  Forgive as you have been forgiven  Give as you have prospered  Putting others needs ahead of your own  Love your neighbor as yourself  Love your enemy

MORE TOUGH BIBLICAL TEACHINGS:  1 Thes. 5:16-18 – Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  Eph. 5:20 – always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Col. 3:17 – And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

GIVING THANKS AT ALL TIMES FOR ALL THINGS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES HOW? WHY DON’T WE?

BARRIERS TO GRATITUDE:  Pride – Self sufficiency  Since of Entitlement  Materialism – to focus on what we don’t have  Envy – perception others are more blessed  Impatience  Busyness  Failure to realize it’s all God’s to begin with

CONSIDER GOD’S SERVANT… JOB Job 1: At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I will depart. The L ORD gave and the L ORD has taken away; may the name of the L ORD be praised.”

GROWING OUR GRATITUDE  Worship: The only thing we can give God that he didn’t first give us.  Prayer: Col. 4:2 – Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.  Count your many blessings.  Show appreciation even for small gestures.  Refrain from complaining, criticism, and gossip.  Look for the positives in all situations.

GRATITUDE & THANKFULNESS IS A GREAT INDICATOR OF OUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH How are you doing?

CHRISTIANS SHOULD BE GRATEFUL PEOPLE Col. 2:6-7 – So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
