IdealXML an interaction design tool Francisco Montero & Víctor López LoUISE Research Group University of Castilla-La Mancha Bucharest, Romania, June 5-8, 2006 Demonstration

Contents What is IdealXML? What is the main motivation for IdealXML? A little of history... How does it works? Immediate/Future work Conclusions

What is IdealXML? It is a tool for specifying, gathering, sharing, documenting, writing and reading interaction patterns

What is the main motivation for IdealXML? It wants to become a model-based user interface development environment driven and supported by patterns (models)

A little of history...

You can open a repository of interaction patterns You can read interaction patterns and write new ones

A little of history...

How does it works

Future work Concrete Interaction Objects

Conclusions Patterns are presented as an ideal medium for gathering and disseminating user experiences and UI design practices. but, the text-based format used to document patterns, coupled with a lack of tool support for gathering and disseminating patterns, compromise the usability and accessibility of pattern languages IdealXML wants to provide solutions to those aspects
