SUCCESS STORY

A collaborative effort between Workforce Solutions, Brazosport College, and local construction industry employers. The program got its name because it is intended to help residents get a on a new career. Employers expressed a need for trained workers, and Brazosport College designed a training to fit a growing demand for skilled workers. The project was funded by an “Oil & Gas Self-Sufficiency Grant program.

WEEK – INTENSIVE – CAREER TRAINING

Workforce Solutions and Brazosport College worked seamlessly together toward the common goal of student success. Marketing & Recruitment Eligibility Reporting Progress & Outcomes Workforce Solutions Staff: Assisted customers with completing financial aid applications Performed assessments and pre-screened students for suitability Determined grant eligibility Provided support services for eligible participants Maintained regular communication with participants and program staff

Local employers played a valuable role in the training by:

The Jumpstart program was made possible by utilizing grant funding, thus allowing access to training for individuals who otherwise may not be able to afford the cost of traditional college programs.

Collaboration between Workforce Solutions and Brazosport College allowed the training to evolve in order to better serve students.
