Jaffrey LAKE – Lab prep CHALLENGE: How can phosphate and nitrate indicators identify the contamination problem in Jaffrey Lake?

Pre-Lab Question Jaffrey City has a sustainability challenge. The quality of Jaffrey Lake has declined. Explain how the decline of Jaffrey Lake impacts the sustainability of Jaffrey City. Be sure to discuss the “3 P’s” of sustainability!

Background Information research and record your findings Nitrates: Do some research to find out about nitrates and water pollution. Record your findings. Phosphates: Do some research to find out about phosphates and water pollution. Record your findings. Point source: define Non-point source: define Eutrophication: Make sure to have specific detail and a diagram in this definition!

JAFFREY LAKE predictions Refer to the diagram provided. Select 10 sites that you would like to test. In your lab notebook, list each site by number and why you would like to test that site.
