The Basics of Serving God Fear the Lord your God. Deut. 6:2; Prov. 1:7; Prov. 9:10; 1 Sam. 12:14-15; Deut. 5:32; Eccl. 12:13 The fear of the Lord is the beginning. Neglecting to fear God leads to destruction. Fear was the motivation to keep God’s commands. Fear and Obedience go hand in hand.

The Basics of Serving God Blessings come to the Obedient Deut. 6:3; Deut. 5:33; 1 John 5:1-5 Think about what could have been for the Israelites. Obedience brings reward. The reward far outweighs the sacrifice.

The Basics of Serving God Love God with all your heart. Deut. 6:5; Deut. 6:14-15; John 14:15,21,23-24 God has always wanted the exclusive love of His people. Split love, split loyalties brought about Israel’s downfall. God wants us to love Him as He loved us. Love and Obedience go hand in hand.
