American Heart Association and the CDC (Center for Disease Control) Research tells us 25% of school children get 20 minutes of vigorous physical activity. Adult diseases, like Type II diabetes are now found in children

American Heart Association and the CDC (Center for Disease Control) Research tells us 30% of children and adolescents are overweight. Obesity is 2nd only to tobacco use in preventable deaths.

American Heart Association and the CDC (Center for Disease Control) Research tells us 50% of youth do not engage in physical activity that promotes long term health. From 1991 and 1999 percentage of students in daily phy. ed. dropped from 42% to 29%

LSH has: Added Advanced Fitness Class at HS Staggered PE and Health in 2nd and 3rd quarters in MS

Provides quality, daily physical education With new facility …. At MS/HS opportunity for more activities in more teaching stations At elementary, less conflict with gym use
