Work Session (1st period only – during teacher training). Read “Heartbeat” by David Yoo in the Close Reader Workbooks. Students will: Answer questions 1-6 in blue in their workbook while reading the text. After reading: On their own sheet of paper, students will answer the short response on pg. 30 of the workbook (ticket out the door). They are asked to provide a summary of the story “Heartbeat” by answering Who? Where? When? And What?

Closing Turn in the short response to “Heartbeat” as your ticket out the door.
