REQUIREMENTS: APPRENTICE > ASSOCIATION Apprentice to Association: Officiated for at least 2 years and at least 8 meets for the requested events (Submit a list of meets, dates, events worked and person worked for). One letter of recommendation from a Master’s Certified Official is needed.

REQUIREMENTS: ASSOCITATION > NATIONAL Association to National: Officiated for at least 2 years at the Association level Officiated at at least 10 meets (two of which were Regional, National, or International) for the requested events (Submit a list of meets, dates, events worked and person worked for). Two letters of recommendation from Master’s Certified Official’s are needed.

Requirements: NATIONAL > MASTERS National to Master’s: Officiated for at least 2 years at the National level Officiated at at least 12 meets in the requested events (Submit a list of meets, dates, events worked and person worked for). For field events, proficiency must be shown for all the events within a category (Throws includes SP, DS, JV, HT and WT. Horizontal includes LJ and TJ. Vertical includes HJ and PV) Three letters of recommendation from Master’s Certified Officials are needed.

NCAA GUIDANCE FOR LIGHTENING STRIKES SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH – CONDITIONS ARE THERE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING – REPORTED IN THE AREA KNOW THE SAFEST STRUCTURE OR LOCATION. TO CALCULATE THE DISTANCE THE LIGHTENING IS AWAY, MULTIPLY THAT NUMBER OF SECONDS BETWEEN THE SIGHT OF LIGHTENING AND THE HEARING OF THUNDER BY TO GET YOUR DISTANCE IN MILES. AT A MINIMUM, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENBDED THAT BY THE TIME THE MONITOR OBSERVES 30 SECONDS BETWEEN THE FLASH AND HEARING THUNDER, ALL INDIVIDUALS SHOULD BE AT THE SAFE SITE. WAIT 30 MINUTES AFTER THE LAST FLASH TO RESUME THE MEET

SPORTS CONCUSSIONS TYPES 1. No loss of consciousness or symptoms clear in 30 minutes. 2. Loss of consciousness for less than one minute or more than 30 minutes posttraumatic amnesia or signs/last less than one week. 3. Loss of consciousness for more than one minute or more than 24 hr posttraumatic amnesia or sign last more than 7 days

NCAA CONCUSSION POLICY WATCH FOR THE FOLLOWING TWO EVENTS: A FORCEFUL BLOW TO THE HEAD OR BODY CHANGE IN THE ATHLETE’S BEHAVIOR, THINKING OR PHYSICAL FUNCTIONING SYMPTOMS LOSES CONSCIOUSNESS (EVEN BRIEFLY) HEADACHE OR “PRESSURE” IN HEAD CONFUSED, DAZED, STUNNED, CLUMSY SPEECH & MEMORY PROBLEMS DOUBLE OR BLURRY VISION ACTION: REMOVE THE ATHLETE FROM COMPETITION AND GET MEDICAL HELP

ACTION TO TAKE FOR CONSUSSIONS GET MEDICAL CARE AT ER OR DOCTOR A. First concussion If Type 1 or 2, may return after one week if OK. No dizziness, headache, impaired orientation, concentration or memory If Type3, out for a minimum of one month and return only if OK. b. Second concussion If Type1, my return after 2 weeks if OK. If Type2, may return after 1 month if OK If Type 3, terminate season C. Third concussion - For all Types, terminate season
