Geography: Land forms, natural resources, and climate can determine the jobs and economy in an area. For example, if you live near the Gulf of Mexico, like we do, the natural resources that the water provides can create jobs.

Movement Push factors are bad things that make people leave a place, like war, pollution, no jobs, and crime/violence Pull factors are good things that make people want to go to a place, like jobs, good schools, education, and freedoms

Transportation Barriers slow down transportation Corridors speed up transportation

Global Interdependence: When one country depends on another country for goods, services, natural resources, or markets to sell goods in, it is called Global Interdependence.

Human Environment Interaction Positive (good) human-environment interaction: recycling, irrigation, homes, schools, roads Negative (bad) human-environment interaction: hurricane, pollution, deforestation, oil spills

TYPES OF POLITICAL SYSTEMS Governments can be placed into two categories: Limited and Unlimited Limited Government: Everyone, including all authority figures, must obey laws. Constitutions, statements of rights, or other laws define the limits of those in power so they cannot take advantage of their elected, appointed, or inherited positions. Unlimited Government: Control is placed solely with the ruler and his/her appointees, and there are no limits imposed on his/her authority. A type of dictatorship  A type of democracy
