TOPICS: New Route for Morning and Afternoon Traffic Displaying Name of Child(ren) for pick up and color code(s) Traffic Enforcement Safety while in line for drop off and pickup. Questions or Comments

NEW ROUTES All parents that have early drop (K-2 nd ) off will not follow the directions for the new route, but they will be required to show proper paperwork to enter the Thunderbird Academy parking lot. If you are not able to show what is required then you will be advised to take the new route to access the school. This new route will begin October 6 th, 2015

ROUTE DIRECTIONS  Continue North on Old Statesville Rd. past Thunderbird and turn left onto Caldwell Depot Rd. (0.03 miles)  After turning left onto Caldwell Depot Rd., continue West until you reach Caldwell Track Dr. (0.03 miles)  Turn left onto Caldwell Track Dr. and head South until you reach Trolley Run Dr. (0.01 miles.)  Turn right onto Trolley Run Dr. head West to turn left onto Trolley Crossing Way. (325 ft.)  After turning left onto Trolley Crossing Way. continue South until you reach Caldwell Track Dr. (289 ft.)  Turn left onto Caldwell Track Dr. and take the median to the right to get onto Will Knox Rd. (312 ft.)  While you are taking the right bend at the median the roadway will turn into Will Knox Rd. Continue on Will Knox Rd. until you reach the entrance to Thunderbird Academy. (0.02 miles)

AFTERNOON DIRECTIONS  In the afternoons, parents that have early pickup (K-2 nd ) will not follow the new route but instead will turn directly from Old Statesville Rd. on to Will Knox Rd. to enter Thunderbird Academy. In order to gain access into Thunderbird Academy students name cards that were provided must be displayed and grade color(s) must be visible.  All other parents (3 rd -5 th ) will follow the new route in order to stack up on Will Knox Rd.

COLOR TABS Green: K-2 nd (Early drop off/Early Pickup) Orange: Both grades (Early drop off/Late Pickup) Please follow the instructions for each colored tab.

TRAFFIC LAWS All traffic laws will be adhered to at all times. Speeding in the community, running stop signs, seatbelt violations, and blocking driveways is not permitted. ANYONE THAT VIOLATES THESE LAWS MENTIONED OR OTHERS SHALL BE TICKETED!!

SPEED LIMIT If the speed limit advises 25 mph then the speed limit is 25 mph. If the speed limit advises 35 mph then the speed limit is 35 mph. The Speed Limits in Communities is 25 mph unless posted otherwise. Slower is always better.

SAFETY IN THE LINE It is never safe for a child to hang out of a car window, sit in a car window, standing up and looking out of the sunroof of a car, or hop around in a moving vehicle. Car crashes to happen in parking lots, so do not let your child be injured because they did not want to seat in their seat.
