First 10 minutes- from The Painted Drum: “Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won’t either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up.”

DREAMS Some people believe that dreams can be a way of receiving messages from ourselves, our unconsciousness: it’s like YOU talking to YOU…. Some people believe that dreams can be a way of receiving messages from ourselves, our unconsciousness: it’s like YOU talking to YOU….

Tuesday, Oct. 15 J#15:  Consider: Could dreams be a way for us to deal with things our conscious mind doesn’t want to cope with when we are awake or doesn’t have time to cope with?  Are dreams just so much random data?  How do you feel about dreams and their purpose and/or value? 1-paragraph response, please.

DREAMS Scientists also note that dreams may be a way for the brain to process all of the stimuli you encounter during the day. It could be the way the brain “dumps” what it doesn’t need so you aren’t overwhelmed– an analogy would be deleting unnecessary files on your computer’s hard drive
