FOURTH ANNUAL KIWANIS ESSAY CONTEST STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-12 ARE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER. THE FIRST PLACE WINNER WILL RECEIVE A PRIZE OF $250 AND SECOND PLACE WILL RECEIVE A PRIZE OF $150. THE ESSAY MUST BE TYPED, NO LESS THAN THREE FULL PAGES, WITH A TEXT SIZE NO LARGER THAN 12. THE TOPIC IS “DO THE STRONG HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT THE WEAK?” THE DEADLINE FOR THE CONTEST IS DECEMBER 11, 2015 AND SHOULD BE MAILED TO: KIWANIS CLUB OF BRUNSWICK ESSAY CONTEST PO BOX 2094 BRUNSWICK, GA See Mrs. Barrow’s website for more details.

(USES 4.0 SCALE) A = 4.0, B=3.O, C=2.0 (THE HIGHEST GPA IN THE JUNIOR CLASS RIGHT NOW IS 4.3) HOPE GPA – GPA THAT THE GEORGIA STUDENT FINANCE COMMISSION USES TO DETERMINE IF YOU EARN THE HOPE SCHOLARSHIP. THIS ONLY INCLUDES ACADEMIC COURSES AND FOREIGN LANGUAGES – NOT ELECTIVES. NEEDS TO BE 3.0 TO EARN THE HOPE SCHOLARSHIP. 3.8 EARNS THE ZELL MILLER SCHOLARSHIP.
