Goal for class today  Watch some short films  See if we can spot some of the shot styles as a class  Share how we see films, by responding to the questions for each film

Share your responses  Share your responses with your peers at your table  1) What does a story need to have for it to be a ‘good’ story?  2) What do you enjoy most about watching a movie?  Be ready to have someone share with the class what you talked about as a group

Share your group responses  Each table group will share their responses to the bell work  As a class we will determine what we think makes a good story and what we like about watching movies.

Quick Clips  Now that we have determined what makes a good story we will watch some videos  This is for us to see how we see things in films and how others see things  Things being:  Storyline(beginning, middle, end)  Characters  What we like about a film

Reminders:  The movie will not be played until the class is quiet  No cell phones, if you use your phone you will be given a contract and sent in the halls(if it happens again you and your phone will go to the office & your parent called)  Think when you watch films in here

Today!  Partner?  Put your names on the paper  Before we film we need to learn a few things

Camera  How to keep the camera steady  Turning the camera on and off  Put the camera on the picture setting  Responsibility  Write camera number at the top of your paper when you get it

Filming!  You will film or take pictures of the different shot styles on your sheet  Each person will film once and then switch, then the other person will film  What are you filming?

Ready to film?  Line up in the hall with your partner  We will go out to the commons area  Make sure you are within Mrs. Lyon’s sight at all times  If we have extra time we will go outside to film too!
