Mr. Hooven has over twenty years of experience in all phases of the commercial transports aftermarket, OEM products, material sales with a focus on complex flight controls, technical operation and component R&O analysis. Component R&O Expertise MJH and Associates has the expertise to assist your organization in analyzing detailed component sub- assembly repair scenarios with recommendations for cost savings within CMM parameters and customer requirements. We offer a thorough working knowledge base in all phases of component R&O; including test equipment recommendations, DER /PMA recommendations, in- house sub-assembly repair, service bulletin /letter review and implementation, product reliability improvement, performance tracking post- modification, work scope analysis / scenario creation and, CMM interpretation of required repair.

Component Value Engineering Experience. Experience gained from many years with large OEMs, airlines, and third party component maintenance organizations; with demonstrated performance answering the following questions for stakeholders: 1.Is it worth the expense? Review and disposition of OEM product service bulletins / AD’s to include follow-on tracking of service bulletin mod to on-wing reliability. 2.Can I execute my R&O services more cost-effectively? Conduct detailed component repair analysis to determine most cost effective and reliable repair options. Strategically enhance capability coverage in areas that make sense for your organization. 3.Are we managing our Component R&O in a world-class manner? Close monitoring of parts suppliers / outside services / OEM support to ensure best costs and adherence to critical delivery schedules. Assist in managing all aspects of activities, warranty recovery, auditing, OEM agreement terms and conditions per internal caps.

R&O Service Offerings Work-scope / Cost Engineering – thorough review of component repair work-scope identifying areas of CMM ambiguity / potential DER repairs and, assessing ways to make the overall repair cost competitive. Component Reliability Analysis- Closely monitor component removal history and past repair reports to derive supplemental repair scenarios to enhance sub-assembly component reliability. Component integrity will not be compromised. Warranty recovery, if requested. Capability (caps) Expansion- Will assist in identifying logical extensions to your existing caps; identifying an expansion “game plan” or strategy, including OEM support / tooling / training, etc.

Case Studies Assisted Engineering in thorough review and implementation of overhaul cost reduction; i.e., part replacement vs refurbishment, process (labor) improvement techniques, elimination of redundant tests, identifying parts for rotable pool on APU elctro- hydraulic actuator / fuel control valves. Resulted in significant total cost reduction in meeting stringent LTA pricing requirements. B757 Primary Flight Control PCU- identified (5) major sub-components (cost drivers) for part reliability improvements; thus to preclude “repeat offender” status on future returns from a major B757 operator. Periodic review of many actuators / valve R&O workscope for continuous cost reduction efforts.
