Dr. Norman Webb Dr. Norman L. Webb is a Senior Research Scientist, Emeritus, for the Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin. His academic training and research focuses on mathematics and mathematics education. Dr. Webb developed his widely used Depth of Knowledge (DOK) system while serving as a Program Officer for the National Science Foundation in During this time, he also participated as a key member of the Validation Committee for the Common Core State Standards. He has since applied the DOK system while conducting alignment studies between curriculum standards and assessment for Districts and Departments of Education throughout the United States. He has served as the Principal Investigator on numerous National Science Foundation studies while directing evaluations of curriculum and professional development projects. Dr. Webb's current research concerns evaluation, assessment, and alignment.
