Achieving Strong Binding Between the Network and its Management System Amir Eyal and Robin Braun, IICT Group, Faculty of Engineering, UTS, Sydney, Australia

System Structure Motivation In order to apply autonomic management algorithms on a network, the management system and the network itself must poses a number of capabilities: i.Input in the shape of accurate network status; ii.A translation from management objectives to actions; iii.Enforcement of those actions on the network, and; iv.A feedback from the network. To fulfill requirements i and ii, we came up with the 4-layer, 3- colums model. To achieve iii and iv, and to support the model in task i, we composed a specialized protocol over the Elvin middleware.
