Certified Municipal Manager (CMM) 1980 Ontario Municipal Management Institute’s (OMMI)Professional Standards Committee identified skill and knowledge areas necessary to a local government core curriculum Private Members Bill, Certified Municipal Manager Accreditation Program attained legal status

Recognizes and develops management capabilities of municipal government administrators Provides framework to assess management experience and education relevant to local government

OMHRA and OMMI now offer Human Resources Specialist and Human Resources Professional enhanced CMM credential

An HR Specialist must have a minimum of 5 years with required compliment of HR responsibilities AN HR Professional must have a minimum of 8 years with required compliment of HR responsibilities

The CMM designation is required prior to obtaining an expanded designation

Application Process Received by OMMI and reviewed to confirm eligibility OMHRA sub-committee reviews and recommends OMHRA board reviews and approves OMMI Policy & Accreditation Committee awards designation and forwards documentation Recipients recognized at Fall/Spring OMHRA conference Recipients also acknowledged at OMMI Annual Meeting

Credit given for employment experience, as indicated by CMM Supplemental Application Credit given for academic achievement, seminars, conferences, etc ie, points indicated on Conference Agenda for various sessions
