Rags to Riches Presentation Students will get one of 5 stories from the article. You will summarize it for us: The main idea One or two examples of changes with ‘used to’ Conclusion You can start doing your research inside class today, but you can do more research outside of class. You will prepare a short presentation (3-5 minutes) at the end of tomorrow’s class.

Practice with ‘Used To’ In an index card, students will write, “When I was a child, I used to…” I will put it in a pile. Everyone will draw one and we will try to guess who it applies to. Discuss- Students can ask each other questions. Similarities? Differences? Life now?

20 Questions Speaking Game Teacher will stick an index card to each student’s back. These index cards will have names of celebrities who went from rags to riches. The student will ask a maximum of 20 questions to their peers to find out who he or she might be!

Listening for Unstressed ‘To’ Review information on page. 113 in your textbooks. Understand what ought/have/etc. means Teacher will read the script in exercise 5. Cross out/link if there is a lack of stress. In your workbooks, try practicing exercise 7 with a partner. You will hear this more than you produce, but I’d like to hear this in your presentations!
