Presentation transcript:

Cost Structure 1.Initial demonstration vehicle cost per unit will be $9,500USD, plus shipping of approximately $2,500USD. 2.Once the vehicle is on the ground for $12,000USD, contingency for operations & maintenance should be estimated at 5% of the total per annum ($600USD for labor, and electrical & mechanical parts) 3.$2 per day booked for administration of vehicle housing/rental process should also be included. 4.Subsequent vehicles built in Fiji will be available at lower cost. Revenue Streams Revenue generation will be derived from the following opportunities; 1.Vehicle rentals with daily/weekly rates set to be competitive with motorcycle/compact car rates (ie, $12 per day/$60 per week) particularly in absence of fuel costs. 2.Advertising decals on vehicle (monthly/annual terms may be arranged ( ie, $100 per month/$1,000 per annum) 3.Local use may be contracted at hourly/daily rate for fuel-free cargo delivery & similar engagements (ie, $3/hour & $12/day) Key Partners 1.National Power Utility – Maintain and repair vehicle 2.National Tourism Office – Serve as focal point for housing and stewardship of vehicle 3.IUCN – Provide funding for demonstration vehicle and monitoring & evaluation indicators to assess challenges and successes of the vehicle rental structure 4.Organic Transit – Design, produce, and deliver the initial demonstration vehicle for rental use Key Activities 1.Create maintenance & management agreement between power utility & tourism office, respectively 2.Codify regulatory framework for import and operation of vehicles under all policies of road use Key Resources 1.Physical location & personnel to serve as contact point for pick-up & return of vehicle upon end of rental term 2.Technician to provide Solar PV, electrical motor, and chassis maintenance 3.Web/Media presence Value Proposition 1.Customers will benefit from the flat rate of engaging the vehicle (no additional fuel costs incurred) 2.The vehicle will provide more versatility than comparable methods at a much higher level of efficiency 3.Given the cycling components and condensed chassis, terrain limitations will be additionally reduced 4.Novelty of the experience operating the vehicle will create a preferential position for many customers Customer Relationship Management of the demonstration vehicle by local government will tie customer experience to national image and environmental awareness. Correlation in service experience will reflect national tourism goals without any intermediaries. Channels The distribution of vehicle use can be managed directly in the Tourism office & by way of a rental booking menu provided on the Low Carbon Island webpage, linked through from the national website and any approved rental selection sources. Customer Segment The initial users of the zero-emission vehicle option will be solo travelers with an interest in outdoor exploration. The range in age, given the comfort and ease of use should be wider than that of motorcycles It will be of particular interest to both the budget conscious and the environmentally- minded due to lack of fuel cost or emissions. The storage capacity will be suitable for backpackers, anglers, photographers, and others with up to 220kg of baggage/equipment.
