Colour Correction Medulla Cortex Cuticle

What do you think Colour Correction is?

Colour correction is likely to involve: Recolouring previously lightened hair to a darker shade. Recolouring previously coloured hair to a lighter shade. Correcting problems arising from partial colouring techniques. To deal with these problems remember: Colour + colour = darker colour If you add colour to colour the result will always be darker.

Intended Learning outcomes  Students will Identify and explain the effects and differences in colour correction.  Identify relevant Health & Safety issues.  Relate theory of Colour Correction to the observation checklist.

Health and Safety. PPE. What is this? Why do we use these ? When do we use them? Skin test Porosity and Elasticity Tests Record cards.

Incompatibility Test- tests for metallic salts. Mix 20 mls Perm Lotion20mls 20vol Peroxide Take a small cutting of hairPlace the cutting the mixture and wait 5 minutes. If this mixture turns hot and bubbles this is a positive result.

X 1)Reduce colour with artificial colour remover. 2)Remove bands of colour. 3)Prepigment 60% of blonde hair. 4) Correct Highlights and lowlights. X5)Re-colour hair which has had colour removed These are your 4 observations.
