Presentation transcript:

And as they went out of Jericho, a great crowd followed him. And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” And stopping, Jesus called them and said, “What do you want me to do for you?” They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes

be opened.” And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him. ~Matthew 20:29-34~

Mercy = to take pity on because of their horrible state

Have Mercy They Cried Out—v. 30 And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

They Cried Out… In Faith

Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, “Be taken up and thrown into the sea,” it will happen.

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. ~Matthew 21:21-22~

They Cried Out… Their Only Opportunity

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. ~Matthew 7:7-8~

They Cried Out… Despite Opposition—v. 31 The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David.”
