R ELIGION OF A SHANTI The Ashanti people live in central Ghana in the rain forests of South Africa. Ashanti beliefs are very important to Ghana, most of the Religion there is Ashanti. Let me remind you that Ghana is a very new nation, just tipping the iceberg of 50 years old. The area of Ashanti is 9400 square miles.

R ELIGION OF A SHANTI (C ONTINUED ) The Ashanti people have always been known for being fierce fighters. They use this slogan when facing something difficult, “If I move forward, I die. If I move backwards, I die. I might as well move forward and die.” This plays out in their religion, they would rather die with their beliefs, than live without them.

A SHANTI R ELIGION ( CONTINUED ) The Ashanti religion is a mixture of spiritual and supernatural powers. They believe in witches and fairies. They also believe that plants, animals, and trees have souls. The Ashanti people also have a ceremony for Marriage, Birth, Death, and Puberty.
