Backpacks & Lunch Kits  Backpacks  Brought to each class  Students should not go to backpacks during class.  Students are expected to have supplies at their table and ready for instruction when class starts.  Lunch Kits  Will go to 3 rd or 7 th period and remain there until end of day  Ensure names are on Lunch kits  Eating and drinking the in science lab is prohibited.

Our Curriculum  We believe in a hands-on approach to science!  We will use the StemScopes curriculum for instruction and experiments.  We will not have a science textbook!

Lab Journal  Scientists use journals to record observations and data  Must be neat and organized  Will remain in class  Graded based on:  Table of Contents  Appearance  Content

Grades  Breakdown:  Classwork/Homework: 50%  Tests/Quizzes/Projects: 35%  Participation & Lab Journal: 15%  Please take note: the 2nd and 4th Nine Weeks will be a little different. The midterm and final exams will affect the grades for those nine weeks.

Class Dojo This is a really cool classroom management and parent communication tool!  You will receive an invitation to join Class Dojo. This will allow you to keep track of your child’s daily conduct.  Each Friday, students may use their Class Dojo points to buy prizes!

Conduct and Behavior  Students are expected to:  Be respectful  Be responsible  Be proactive  Be productive  Be prepared  I will follow the procedures in the LPS Handbook.
