 Board of Trustees hired three attorneys to conduct an investigation into the allegations  Investigation was conducted over four months  Included interviews, review of forms, compliance information, correspondence, etc. University of Utah

 Develop standards for coaching methods  Sport supervisors required to monitor coaches  Wellness Team should have more involvement and responsibility to report instances of abuse  Adopt procedures for intervention, treatment, & discipline relating to substance abuse by coaches (as well as penalties for failure to comply) University of Utah

 Compliance is often the first to be blamed  The results of these situations likely affect how compliance professionals will do their jobs  Compliance professionals are experts in policies and procedures  Become the data/document compilers for investigations because compliance records are complete and s are maintained  Compliance offices are slowly incorporating risk assessment, management, and assurance University of Utah
